  • Ensuring that our vision and ESG objectives are relevant, understood and communicated and that our employees demonstrate alignment to them;
  • Identifying all material ESG risks in the business activities undertaken by SMA and ensuring that the risks are fully considered and managed in a responsible and ethical way;
  • Ensuring that key decisions are only taken after full consideration of all material environmental, social and governance issues and risks;
  • Providing appropriate information, instruction and training and ensuring that this policy is communicated to all persons working for SMA. and
  • Working together with our customers, suppliers and business partners to encourage them to adopt the principles or similar policies resulting in the same outcomes
    • Encouraging a supportive and inclusive culture among the whole SMA team. We want a working environment which supports our values, and one which is free from any form of discrimination, bullying or harassment and where all individuals are treated with respect, fairness and consistency.

Our Targets

  • SMA will continually review all operational processes with the aim to reduce waste
  • SMA will optimise consumption of resources in our own operation implementing efficiency measures wherever possible
  • SMA will provide development opportunities for all its employees and will achieve and maintain an appropriate accreditation or align itself to an appropriate scheme in order to benchmark performance in this area
  • SMA believe in paying a fair wage for a days work and will ensure pay and other rewards are benchmarked
  • SMA recognise its responsibility to its community and will support local charities accordingly
  • SMA will extend reviews of key suppliers and assure compliance with human and labour rights legislation throughout the supply chain
  • SMA will implement and maintain Quality Management System aimed at ensuring compliance of service to our customers and users. The QMS will be externally certified
  • SMA will keep pace with the evolving needs and expectations of all stakeholder groups and will implement and maintain an appropriate Information Management System which will be subject to external assessment
